The Test of Attentional Control and Task performance (TACT) is a continuous performance assessment designed to evaluate errors of commission, omission, and response variability over a 15-minute period.

Results from the TACT yield a total score, including counts of accurate responses (omissions) and inaccuracies (commissions), as well as detailed minute-by-minute scoring.

This tool can effectively illustrate clinical responses to stimulant medications for patients and their families.

It is important to note that the TACT is not intended as a diagnostic tool for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Rather, it highlights clinical improvements observed 90 minutes post-medication administration.

The administration of the TACT should be conducted by a qualified physician or a specifically trained healthcare professional, such as a nurse or psychologist, under the supervision of a physician.

As part of a broader assessment framework, the TACT can contribute to the evaluation and management of ADHD symptoms and responsiveness to treatment.

However, it should not be viewed as a substitute for a comprehensive clinical assessment and evaluation process.
